Second Summer Proposal: “Capri Shirt” & “Band Collar Shirt”
The rainy season inevitably returns with the cycle of the four seasons.
Changes in air pressure and humidity can easily dampen our spirits, but by choosing refreshing, comfortable garments,
we hope to spend the days feeling a little brighter and more pleasant.
With that in mind, here is the second proposal for the coming season.
The "Classic Shorts" introduced in our previous News are undoubtedly a delightful choice for the warmer months. For this second proposal, we present tops that provide exceptional comfort and a sense of openness: the "Capri Shirt" and "Band Collar Shirt."
"カプリシャツ" Capri Pullover Shirt

A summer classic, the resort-style pullover shirt.
This is the first time we have offered it as a made-to-order item, and we have added it to our Sports Line in response to customer requests.
When it comes to a Capri shirt, linen is the ideal fabric.
With moderate firmness, excellent moisture absorption and breathability, it stays dry to the touch at all times.
It also possesses natural antibacterial properties, making it one of the best fabrics for summer shirts.
The less skin exposed, the more formal clothing becomes.
Shorts and Capri shirts sit at the opposite end of the spectrum.
The deeply opened chest area keeps you cool while enhancing a relaxed resort mood.
A loop closure at the front is characteristic of the Capri shirt.
Fully open, it can feel quite bold,
so fastening one loop is recommended for city wear.

Unlike a typical shirt where the front overlaps, fastening this style still leaves a slight opening.
The difference in breathability and comfort around the chest is remarkable.
The collar also differs from a standard shirt.
Rather than a separate collar stand and collar, it is constructed as a single one-piece collar, creating a soft roll.
It can be worn neatly laid down or slightly raised for a relaxed look.
A well-opened collar suits the Capri shirt.
In addition to this orthodox wide spread collar, a more open cutaway option is also available.
The cuffs are simple with no slit.
(You may choose either 3/4 sleeves as shown here or long sleeves. Long sleeves feature standard buttoned cuffs.)
Wear it as is,
or fold them back or casually roll them up for an appealing style.
The hem is cut straight without front-back difference.
Side slits are included.
Here it is worn!
As it is made-to-order, sizing is flexible, but I chose one size larger than my dress shirts for a relaxed fit.
Because it is a pullover, a little extra room also makes it easier to put on and take off.
It was my first pullover band collar shirt and felt unfamiliar at first, but now I'm completely used to it.
The Capri shirt works with many bottoms, but pairs especially well with shorts.
It is great for everyday wear, though ideally suited for the seaside.
We hope to take it along to beloved Atami this summer.
For your summer outings, how about an elegant yet liberating Capri shirt?
"バンドカラーシャツ" Bandcollar Shirt
Our other proposal is the
"Bandcollar Shirt" Bandcollar Shirt
Previously we introduced the pullover type; this is the full-open version.
This one is also 100% linen.
Its watercolor-like coloration differs beautifully from cotton.
We are very fond of this band collar atmosphere.
Not too high, not too low--just right.
Worn here!
Since the pullover was styled casually, the full-open version is slightly dressier.
The band collar shirt pairs exceptionally well with a waistcoat.
Here it is worn alone.
(Apologies for the wrinkles, as it had been worn under a waistcoat.)
When worn by itself, rolling up the sleeves or draping knitwear over the shoulders adds a refined touch.

It also pairs effortlessly with a suit.
When you want to wear a suit without appearing overly formal, a band collar shirt softens the look.
It also creates a distinctive styling impression.

From casual to lightly dressy styling with suits, the versatile band collar shirt is sure to become a wardrobe staple.
We will continue expanding our own collection and proposing styling ideas as a signature item of The Dressing Lab.
We also offer a wide variety of linen and cotton-linen shirting fabrics ideal for Capri and band collar shirts.
Please feel free to consult The Dressing Lab for your summer wardrobe.
