Dress Line "Raglan Coat"

I'd like to introduce the Raglan Coat from The Dressing Lab.

Raglan Coat

Raglan Coat
Allow me to present our Raglan Coat. Its distinct feature differentiates it from our Chester and Stand Collar styles, which have set-in sleeves. The Raglan Coat employs what's called a "raglan sleeve", which extends in one piece fully to the collar, leaving a diagonal seam from underarm to collarbone. Naturally, it does not have any padding, resulting in a softer and more rounded shoulder line. Additionally, the cuffs come with tabs.

this silhouette offers the most relaxed fit and volume.
Among our coats, this silhouette offers the most relaxed fit and volume. It boasts a beautiful A-line design, and the longer length contributes to a richly draped silhouette. Depending on your preference, cinching at the waist with the back belt will further enhance this draping effect.

double styles
The design comes in both single and double styles. The double raglan exudes a trench coat vibe. The generously sized upper collar has been designed to stand up beautifully.

There are two tailoring options. One is the standard tailoring with a full lining, known as "fully-lined", and the other minimizes lining, termed "facing" or "large facing". If you prioritize smoothness and warmth, the fully-lined option would be best, but if you prefer lightness, the large facing would be more suitable. Especially if you're considering crafting a raincoat from cotton or nylon, the large facing is highly recommended.

Regarding the fit: It's the opposite of the snug fit you'd find in a Chester coat, which highlights the body's lines. Instead, this coat is designed for a relaxed fit to enjoy its draping, softness, and lightness, with a length that ideally falls below the knee. We'd be delighted if you wore it casually, almost like throwing on a bathrobe. You can cinch the waist tightly with the belt, or leave it open, tuck the belt into the pockets, and let the hem flutter in the wind.

You also have a wide range of material choices. While crafting it with a sturdy coat fabric is a given, tailoring it with flannel material meant for suits or jackets can accentuate its soft ambiance. Furthermore, making it as a spring coat or raincoat using cotton gabardine, waxed cotton, or even nylon is absolutely viable. Given its laid-back vibe, depending on how you style it, it's suitable for both business and casual settings. From the way it's worn, the fabrics it employs, to the occasions it's fit for, our Raglan Sleeve Coat is versatile and accommodating to all.
