In recent times, as business casual attire has become more prevalent, we've received numerous requests from customers for casual suits made of sporty materials such as jersey and nylon. These suits should be versatile enough for both on and off duty. We are excited to announce that we have finally prepared the stitching and fabric to meet these demands!

Sporty Yet of High-Quality Tailoring

While there are many casual setups available, it was essential for our store to offer something that is both "custom-made" and "high-quality". Dressing Lab's "Easy Setup" is no exception. Like our other custom items, we emphasize quality in both tailoring and fabric.

The tailoring isn't done at typical casual wear factories. Instead, we commission the sewing to the nation's top custom-made factory, which usually crafts our suits and coats. Additionally, while ensuring the fabric meets the requirements for the Easy Setup, we've meticulously selected materials that exude a sense of quality and will last for a long time. As a result, our setup has a sophisticated casual feel, but also embodies elegance and refinement, culminating in a luxurious ensemble.

Starting with the tailoring of the jacket, our Easy Sports Jacket is designed to be the lightest in our store, with minimal lining and interlining, adopting a "slim turn" specification. While the regular "unconstructed" tailoring is a "wide turn", by making the turn - a part of the jacket - as slim as possible, it results in a finish that is even softer and lighter than the wide turn. Moreover, with less overlap of fabric on the front, it increases breathability, ensuring a cooler feel when worn. While all of our jackets have been praised for their lightweight and softness, the Easy Sports Jacket stands out as the lightest of them all.

While it's designed for lightness, a notable feature is the sturdy inner pockets on both sides for convenience. Since there is no lining, the inner seams are meticulously finished with piping. One of the joys of custom-made tailoring is the option for customers to choose the color of this piping to match the fabric.

It's not just about being lightweight. Despite its casual setup, traditional tailored jacket details can be spotted throughout. The gorge line (where the upper and lower collars are sewn together) is not straight, but angled, allowing for a curved and softer gorge line to be enjoyed.

The "stand" of the upper collar, which rises firmly and fits around the neck, proves that this jacket, despite its casual vibe, is a high-quality piece tailored with utmost precision. Even though it's an unconstructed make, the added volume to the front shoulders and arms ensures comfort and prevents unnecessary creases.

Blending the lightweight specifications demanded by modern setups with the specifications of classic tailored jackets, our Easy Setup stands out as a hybrid of the best of both worlds.

The Drawstring Pants are a hybrid of modern and classic styles. At first glance, they appear to be traditionally tailored pants, but they feature an elastic waistband that can be adjusted with a drawcord. What sets them apart is their ability to accommodate a range of materials - from stretch to jersey and nylon - something often deemed challenging in regular tailoring.

These pants offer a two-tuck drawstring design. While no-tuck is standard, one-tuck and two-tuck options are also available for custom orders. The tucks are designed with minimal volume, ensuring a sleek appearance even with two tucks. Tailoring them in a stretch material for a skinny fit can look sharp, as can adding tucks for a slightly wider tapered silhouette. The ability to customize the silhouette and details to your preferences is the unique advantage of bespoke tailoring.

The drawcord resembles a high-quality shoelace, complete with a metal cap at the ends, exuding a touch of luxury. While the charm of these drawstring pants lies in the subtle visibility of this drawcord, for those who may feel it's a tad too casual for professional settings, the design allows you to easily tuck the cord inside and tie it discreetly. Once tucked in, the pants effortlessly transform into refined slacks.

When the cord is pulled inside, you have the option to choose whether or not you'd like belt loops, based on your preference.

The waistband is elastic, providing flexibility. The elastic portions are subtly placed on the sides, ensuring that, when viewed from the front, it doesn't overtly appear as an elastic waist, maintaining its elegant appearance. The combination of the elastic and drawcord means there's no tightness, offering a light and comfortable fit. This design is especially ideal for the warmer seasons when you'd prefer minimal constriction, ensuring a cool and breezy wear.

For the hem finish, you have the option to choose from single, double, or a casual triple-fold stitch finish. If you're aiming for a sporty look, the triple-fold stitch is recommended. However, if you're tailoring with a wool stretch fabric for business purposes, opting for the double finish is also a stylish choice.

Our drawstring pants come with the popular option of the crease stitch, which sews along the edge of the center crease line to ensure that the center press remains intact. Especially for pants made from stretch or jersey materials, which tend to lose their center crease easily or may develop wrinkles around the knee, the crease stitch effectively and permanently addresses these concerns.

Unlike formal wear such as suits or jacket-pants combinations, business casual attire offers a wider latitude in styling, often leading to dilemmas about how casual one can go. However, with the Easy Setup, much like with suits, all you need to decide on are the inner wear and shoes, making the outfit planning considerably effortless.Tailored in Ormetex's cotton-nylon blend (black), this setup resembles the so-called 'swishy' suits. A familiar name at our store, Caccioppoli from Italy. While it is often associated with a classic fabric image, they also have a jersey fabric in their collection. This specific blend showcases Caccioppoli's signature blue in a wool-jersey. A unique double-faced design where the front and back have different colors is a technique characteristic of Caccioppoli. Designed unlined, the vibrant underside occasionally peeks through, adding a stylish touch. The fabric's moderate weight makes it suitable for wear throughout all seasons.

From the top-tier Loro Piana, an exquisite jersey fabric that is quintessentially Loro Piana has been released. It's available in three colors: blue, gray, and greige.

Reda
"REDA ACTIVE"
100% Wool Jersey
Leading the fabric industry with its stretch materials, Reda has, of course, also woven jersey. Their 100% wool jersey is soft, has excellent resilience, and exudes a sense of luxury.

Although the number of wool jersey fabrics has been increasing annually, many companies still offer a limited color variation. However, Reda offers a delightful color palette. With options like khaki and light brown, they provide the colors that are currently in demand. The slightly heathered appearance of the jersey is particularly attractive. And, as expected of Reda, the quality combined with the cost performance is truly unmatched.

Elegant Stretch Fabric

At first glance, it might appear like a regular suit fabric, but it's actually a stretch material perfect for tailored setups. Introducing a remarkable sports fabric from Loro Piana. The Rain System is typically a fabric that blends wool and nylon with a water-repellent treatment. It has traditionally been more rigid, making it suitable for outerwear. However, "Rain System Fairway" presents a new twist, combining wool and nylon to create an ultra-thin stretch fabric that's unlike anything seen before.

This fabric merges the soft texture of wool with the crisp feel of nylon. It has a unique wear experience that's both structured and stretchy, and of course, water-repellent. It's truly the setup fabric for the modern era. Personally, I've worn a setup made from this fabric and I can't get enough of its lightness and softness. And, as expected from Loro Piana, the color vibrancy is simply outstanding.

Reda
"REDA FLEXO"

While Reda has released the "Reda Active" 100% wool tropical stretch fabric, which is highly recommended, we would like to introduce the newly released stretch, "Reda Flexo."

"Reda Flexo" utilizes regenerative polyurethane that does not contain harmful substances and is naturally biodegradable. This fabric champions sustainability, but it also boasts a remarkable texture. By blending in regenerated fiber lyocell, it offers a unique coolness and tactile quality not found in other fabrics. Furthermore, despite its softness, it possesses a characteristic of being resistant to wrinkles. This fabric is not only perfect for casual suits but also for standalone drawstring pants, ensuring they perform superbly as casual slacks.

Stretch Denim

Though it might be too casual to be called a suit fabric, given the rising demand for denim-based orders, we're introducing this as a special mention. Caccioppoli's classic stretch denim is perfect for tailored denim slacks or denim suits. This denim offers a refined ambiance with less variance than typical denim, ensuring an elegant finish that's not too casual. If you're seeking a more distinct texture, the fabric can be washed once before tailoring to give it a rougher appearance.

Sporty Nylon Fabric (often referred to as "swishy")

Nylon fabric exudes a sportiness and casual vibe that wool cannot replicate. Despite its lightweight nature, it boasts impressive durability and functional wearability. Much like wool jersey, as the global demand for nylon fabrics has surged, more luxurious iterations have been woven, leading to materials of such high caliber they could be dubbed "luxury nylon." The so-called "swishy suits" made of nylon are not only great with shirts or polo shirts but also pair exceptionally well with sportier items like tees or hoodies. They're also ideal for those who'd like to match their suits with sneakers.

Highly recommended among the "swishy" nylon materials is this gem from the esteemed Italian Ormetex company's Cotton-Nylon blend, which I'm also seen wearing in the above image. The matte texture combined with the creased finish exudes a perfectly balanced ambiance.

The blend boasts the breezy and light feel distinctive to cotton-nylon, making it incredibly comfortable to wear. By integrating the robustness of nylon, it achieves both thinness and high durability. The material is virtually wrinkle-free, making it an ideal choice for travel or business trip suit setups. Its intentionally muted, smoky color variations are truly exceptional.

Euro Jersey
"Sensitive"

Our store is proud to introduce for the first time fabrics from Euro Jersey, a specialist jersey manufacturer from Italy. This esteemed company has been supplying materials to renowned Italian outerwear brands and has been at the forefront of sustainability efforts since 2007. Their jersey fabric is made using eco-conscious nylon and polyurethane blends. While I once believed that natural fibers were superior, encountering such a high-quality synthetic fiber jersey has been a real eye-opener.

The texture is unparalleled. Though the term "nylon" might conjure images of a swishy material, this jersey is reminiscent of a thin wetsuit fabric, offering a soft texture that melds seamlessly with the skin and provides ultra-stretch. Even when tailored slim, this fabric promises a stress-free wear. Its appearance is distinct from wool, presenting a matte and consistent hue that carries a sporty yet chic aura. It pairs perfectly with items like hoodies and high-tech sneakers. Being wrinkle-resistant and washable, it offers the freedom to wear without reservations. Personally, I'm considering a suit from this fabric as a feasible option for cycling to work.
