Order-Made “Spring Coat” Collection — 2021 Spring/Summer
Since its debut in January, the Dressing Lab's Spring Coat has received an overwhelmingly positive response. As the weather becomes warmer and this outerwear truly comes into its own, inquiries have increased as well. In this feature, we are pleased to introduce a selection of Spring Coats ordered by our clients to date.

Mr. I
Fabric: Limonta (Italy) "Polyester Solaro"
Color: Beige & Khaki
The lightest material among our selections for Spring Coats. It offers the crisp, airy hand feel characteristic of polyester. This is an Italian-inspired "Solaro" fabric, woven with different warp and weft yarn colors, creating an elegant iridescence that shifts with the light--one of its most distinctive charms.

Its A-line silhouette when worn without the belt is beautifully expressed.

Mr. H
Fabric: Olmetex (Italy) "Nylon & Cotton"
Color: Navy
I personally ordered a single-breasted Spring Coat in a different color of this same fabric. Olmetex is renowned for its high-quality cotton fabrics. This prestigious material--74% nylon, 26% cotton--balances nylon's durability with cotton's comfort. Remarkably, it is completely wrinkle-free.
The collar roll is refined and elegant.
The textured, lightly crinkled finish gives the coat a lived-in sophistication straight from new. This matte expression is exceptionally stylish. Its unique tactile feel--neither crisp nor soft--is outstanding.

Mr. N
Fabric: Millerain (UK) "Oiled Cotton"
Color: Grey Check
This Millerain oiled-cotton series--slightly niche but personally a favorite--has unexpectedly become one of our most popular choices. The cotton is tightly woven, then treated with a special oil finish, creating a distinct firmness. The "chalk marks" that appear when the surface rubs, along with the aging characteristics unique to these dense fabrics, make this coat especially enjoyable to "grow" over time. Compared with nylon, it is certainly heavier and firmer at first, but it provides a reassuring level of weather protection.
The check pattern is exceptionally well-balanced and truly striking. A Black Watch-inspired option is also available.

The sharp lines and the way the collar stands--particularly when worn without the belt--are excellent.

Mr. H
Fabric: Millerain (UK) "Oiled Cotton"
Color: Navy
The navy version of the check coat introduced earlier. Deep navy conveys a powerful, understated presence. This is a Spring Coat suited to traditional styling--ideal over suits and tailored jackets rather than casual wear. It even inspires one to imagine the perfect umbrella to accompany it on rainy days. This client requested a slightly shorter, above-the-knee length for a lighter impression.
A smoky navy hue. The coat currently has that crisp tension unique to a new garment, but the evolution that awaits over time promises to be beautiful.
A superb back view. While the belt is somewhat stiff at first, it will naturally soften over the years--an enjoyable part of the aging process.

Mr. U
Fabric: Limonta (Italy) "Nylon"
Color: Army Green
The finale is the Limonta nylon coat. I also ordered the same double-breasted model in navy. The luxurious sheen and deep coloration exemplify Limonta's craftsmanship. Lightweight yet structured, the fabric blocks wind effectively. The subtle puckering along the seams--unique to nylon--is a charming feature for those who appreciate technical fabrics.
This army green is truly exceptional--not too bright, not too dark, but perfectly balanced. The other colorways are equally compelling.
The back silhouette is beautifully expressed.

How did you find this Spring Coat feature? At Dressing Lab, our Spring Coat is intentionally crafted as lightly as possible while still providing essential wind and rain protection. It is not designed primarily for insulation; rather, the focus is on effortless wearability--an outer layer you can throw on lightly and rely on throughout the year. It is the perfect option for those who feel that a traditional trench coat may be a bit too heavy.
For those moments when you "just want to wear something to complete the look" or "a warm coat feels too heavy, but going without feels incomplete," we highly recommend a Spring Coat with a soft drape and airy silhouette such as those shown above. Simply putting it on completes your style. Delivery time is only about one month. If you have trouble finding a ready-made Spring Coat that resonates with your taste, please feel free to consult us--we are confident this will become a coat you reach for again and again.
