Introducing the New 2020 Autumn/Winter Overcoat Collection: Raglan Coat & Pea Coat

We are pleased to announce the debut of two new overcoat models. Both designs were developed in response to direct requests from our clients. Neither overly dressy nor overly casual, these coats are designed to transition seamlessly from business to leisure. They offer a refined presence while maintaining a light, effortless appearance--precisely the kind of coats that modern wardrobes call for. We invite you to take a closer look.

Raglan Coat

Available in both single-breasted and double-breasted versions. First, a brief note on what "raglan" means. Raglan sleeves are said to have originated from military garments, designed to allow injured soldiers to put on and remove their coats with ease. Unlike the more common set-in sleeves used in jackets and coats, raglan sleeves feature a diagonal seam running from the neckline to the underarm. While they lend a more casual impression than set-in sleeves, they also create a softer, more relaxed shoulder line and allow for exceptional ease of movement--making them ideal for outerwear that you simply throw on and go.

The single-breasted raglan coat features a generous, classic stand collar. The softly voluminous collar adds a wonderful sense of character and refinement.

A waist belt is included. You may cinch it for a defined silhouette with elegant drape,

or tuck it casually into the side pocket--or even let it hang loose for a relaxed look.
20201005_06.jpg 20201005_07.jpg You can also leave the front open and simply belt it at the waist, much like a wrap coat.

The cuffs are finished with adjustable tabs.

The waist pockets are sporty, slanted welt pockets. With a draped coat like this, you'll naturally find yourself walking with your hands in your pockets.

The collar looks just as elegant when worn up.

The double-breasted raglan coat is equally striking. While not a technically precise term, one might describe it as a "wool trench." Double-breasted coats often appear rather formal, but thanks to its soft construction, this model maintains a gentle, approachable impression.

Double-breasted with six buttons. We recommend fastening only the middle button.

The collar design differs from the single-breasted version. This one features a sporty Ulster collar. Its generous width gives it a commanding and elegant presence.

The drape, natural shoulder line, and the back view are all beautifully balanced. Finished with a center vent.

What do you think of the Raglan Coat? Once you try it on, we believe you will be impressed by its airy lightness, soft feel, and richly draped silhouette.

Finally, regarding sizing and materials: this raglan coat is designed to be worn with a slightly oversized, relaxed fit. While the length is up to personal preference, we currently favor longer lengths that fall below the knee. Traditional coating fabrics work beautifully, but as seen in our sample, we also highly recommend using flannel typically reserved for suits and jackets to create a lighter, more fluid coat. For spring and summer, cotton or nylon fabrics can be used to create a spring coat or raincoat-style piece. We are currently developing these options--please stay tuned.

Next, we introduce our second new model.

Pea Coat

The Pea Coat originally comes from British naval outerwear, traditionally characterized by easy-access handwarmer pockets, large buttons, and heavy melton fabric. Our version reinterprets this classic design with a more elegant sensibility. The concept lies somewhere between a jacket and a coat. Slightly longer than a jacket, it is easy to wear while driving or sitting. It is also perfect for casual winter moments--such as enjoying a drink on a terrace. Less bulky than a coat yet warmer than a jacket, it is ideal when you want something more refined than a down jacket but warmer than a blazer. Simply throw it on over a knit, and you are ready to go.

The collar is a slightly slimmer Ulster style. Like a jacket, it features a chest welt pocket. The double-breasted six-button configuration uses a compact button spacing, perfectly suited to the pea coat's lighthearted character.

The waist pockets are framed patch pockets, intentionally chosen for their balance of refinement and casual appeal. Of course, classic slanted welt pockets can also be selected for a more traditional pea coat look.

The back is kept clean and simple, finished with a center vent.

The Pea Coat is designed with a fit approximately one size larger than a jacket, allowing it to be worn comfortably over thick knits or even over a tailored jacket. We recommend fabrics with some body and texture--such as brushed beaver, tweed, or the soft, loosely woven knit-like fabric used in this sample. As more occasions call for attire that is neither too formal nor too casual, simply pairing cotton trousers, a knit, and this pea coat creates a perfectly balanced look. A refined pea coat is a must-have addition to any mature wardrobe.
