Introducing DRAPERS' Autumn/Winter 2024 Fabric Collections

Tomohiro Hayashi
We are pleased to present an extensive overview of Drapers’ Autumn/Winter 2024 fabric collections. We hope you enjoy exploring them.
In addition to the highly anticipated seasonal GOLDEN SELECTION, four new bunch books have arrived from Drapers--an exciting update for many of our clients who look forward to each new season.
FEATHERWEIGHT FLANNEL
The name "Featherweight Flannel" is a playful nod to boxing's featherweight class, contrasting with traditional heavy flannel. Though it retains the brushed texture flannel is known for, it weighs just 270g--making it ideal for three-season wear, excluding summer.
These flannels are perfect for suits that can be worn across the cooler months, but they also come in versatile colors that would work beautifully for trousers on their own. If you've always wanted to try flannel but find traditional weights too seasonal, this lighter option offers a more flexible way to enjoy the classic fabric.
PANTHEON
Next up is the "Pantheon" collection--an all-season suiting range made from Super 130's wool. Surprisingly, this is a category that Drapers had not offered until now.
This collection offers a dependable selection of colors and patterns. With an excellent balance between refined texture and everyday practicality, it's ideal for clients seeking a suit that can be worn comfortably once a week throughout the year--with just the right amount of sheen. Its cost performance also makes it a compelling choice.
We have specially selected several standout patterns from the Pantheon bunch for our store. When you visit, we encourage you to try them draped over your shoulders to feel the quality firsthand.
Greenhills
We now move into a more luxurious category. First up is the iconic "Greenhills" collection, which has been renewed and upgraded from Super 160's to Super 180's.
Greenhills is named after the sheep farm owned by Drapers' parent company, Vitale Barberis Canonico, located in Australia. This exclusive collection is woven entirely from ultra-fine wool sourced from sheep carefully raised on that very farm--making it a true signature fabric of Drapers.
Beyond the quality of the raw wool, Drapers has--true to its tailoring heritage--created a fabric that's smooth yet not overly fluid, with just the right amount of structure and bounce to make it a pleasure to work with.
While the resurgence of stripes is certainly exciting, we particularly recommend the solid herringbone, sharkskin, or plain options to experience the full richness of the Super 180's fibers. If you've hesitated to try ultra-fine luxury suits due to concerns about durability or wearability, we encourage you to explore Greenhills as a confident entry point.
PURE CASHMERE
The cashmere bunch book has also been renewed. Previously focused solely on coat fabrics, the new collection now includes jacket fabrics suitable for spring, summer, and autumn, in addition to coat cloths available in both lightweight and heavyweight options.
Plain Weave (250g)
First is the plain-weave fabric designed for spring-summer blazers. At first glance, its appearance is so smooth and minimal that it may not seem like cashmere--but the moment you touch it, the dry hand paired with a subtle suppleness confirms its luxurious nature.
Cashmere that doesn't look like cashmere--arguably the most indulgent kind. For those in search of a lightweight, exceptionally soft summer jacket with a discreet appearance, this is a fabric worth exploring.
Twill Weave (330g)
Next is a twill weave ideal for jackets. It delivers the signature drape and elegance that only cashmere twill can offer.
At 330g and without a brushed finish, this fabric is suitable for all but the hottest months--perfect for three-season wear. Its understated design and luxurious feel make it a versatile option for those who value comfort and refined simplicity.
Herringbone (330g)
Made from the same twill base, this herringbone fabric exemplifies the Drapers aesthetic--timeless and distinctive.
Herringbone jackets are a perennial favorite--once you own one, you'll likely want others in different shades and textures.
Next is the "Beaver" category. In textile terms, a "beaver" finish refers to a twill-woven fabric that undergoes fulling (a process of applying moisture and agitation to shrink and compact the fibers), followed by brushing to create volume, a smooth nap, and a subtle sheen--resembling the appearance of beaver fur. Drapers offers their cashmere beaver in three weight variations: ① 360g, ② 480g, and ③ 550g.
Beaver (360g)
This is classic cashmere beaver at its best--lustrous, supple, and luxurious. At 360g, it's lightweight enough for tailored jackets or lightly structured coats.
Beaver (480g)
This mid-weight option is available in a range of elegant earth tones--quintessentially Drapers. In addition to being ideal for coats, it's also perfect for warm, coat-style jackets that can serve as outerwear alternatives.
A striking gradient of blues.
At The Dressing Lab, we're currently producing a new sample item in this army green color. We plan to unveil it in September--please stay tuned.
Beaver (550g)
The heavyweight overcoating is available in three colors: camel, blue, and navy. Made with an abundant amount of cashmere, this is truly a luxurious topcoat fabric. For those seeking a richly warm, full-bodied cashmere coat, this may be the ideal choice.
GOLDEN SELECTION
This season's limited-edition Golden Selection has also arrived. Each year, Drapers surprises us with fabrics of exceptional quality--showcasing the brand's continued innovation and energy.
Wool, Cashmere & Silk (Suiting Fabrics)
Visually striking and luxurious, this suiting fabric blends wool with cashmere and silk--offering a soft sheen and graceful drape.
The range of colors is truly eye-catching.
These fabrics combine refinement with an approachable casual charm--making them perfect for business-casual setups or stand-alone tailored trousers.
Wool, Silk & Linen (Suiting Fabrics)
While Drapers has offered wool-silk-linen blends for jackets in the past, this may be their first time introducing it as a suiting fabric. The addition of linen lends a relaxed touch, and the collection includes patterns well-suited for full suits as well as mix-and-match jackets and trousers.
I personally selected one from this three-color check pattern for myself. It's sure to become a uniquely distinctive suit.
This one features a solid tone with woven patterns. The interplay between weave texture and the wool-silk-linen blend is beautifully balanced.
Wool & Polyamide (Jacket Fabrics)
This jacket fabric stands out with its rich, woolly texture and bold coloring. It's perfect for casual jackets--but could also be elevated into something more formal, like a show-stopping dinner jacket with a shawl collar.
Jacket Fabrics
Classic check patterns that are unmistakably Drapers--these fabrics are ideal for elegant yet expressive jackets.
This season's key colors--accents of purple and green--are cleverly woven throughout the collection.
Did any of the fabrics catch your eye? We invite you to visit our store to see and feel them in person--we look forward to welcoming you.
