Mr. W's Bespoke Suit Completion

It was a great honor to receive an order from Mr. W, who admired the bespoke suit I had commissioned and requested, "something with a similar look." The fabric selected was a navy herringbone.

The suit exudes a soft and relaxed feel overall.

The hand-sewn finish connecting the collar and lapel, known as "hashigo-gake" stitching, is beautifully executed. The stitches and the flowerhole around the gorge line area offer much to admire.

The gentle curve of the gorge line and the plump, three-dimensional buttonhole truly highlight the charm unique to handmade craftsmanship.

The sleeve head shows a generous amount of easing, and the shoulder seam curves forward rather than escaping backward -- a deliberate design choice.

The herringbone pattern aligns beautifully across the barchetta pocket, creating a pleasing visual flow.

A distinctive feature of our bespoke line: darts that extend all the way to the hem.

The cuff area.

The fabric selected was Green Hills by Drapers. This superb fabric boasts a natural sheen and a smooth, soft texture, characteristics unique to pure SUPER160's wool.

The width of the herringbone is just perfect. Such a wide herringbone weave is rare for suit fabrics. Its crisp yet elegant weave accentuates the fabric's natural luster.

The trousers feature a side adjuster design with two pleats -- one of the most frequently chosen styles in our bespoke line.

A small bartack at the pleat opening -- a charming detail that I personally find delightful.

Around the side pocket area, rhythmic hand-stitching can be seen.

The stitching even continues onto the double cuffs. Traditionally, stitching serves both a reinforcing and decorative role.

Fitting Session

Mr. W visited us after work, trying on the suit with his usual shirt, tie, and shoes. It looked so natural on him that it almost seemed as if he had arrived wearing it already! (The lighting makes it look slightly darker here, but it's the same suit shown in the earlier photos.)

The soft, natural shoulder line suited him beautifully, conveying a comfortable fit.

During the basted fitting, he requested to compare the bespoke suit with a Made-to-Measure (MTM) suit, so we crafted both. Compared to the MTM trousers, the bespoke trousers were intentionally made fuller, offering a wonderfully classic look.

A perfect cut showcasing the gently curved gorge line, shoulder seam, well-balanced collar, and the natural fall of the sleeves.

Mr. W, who has extensive experience ordering bespoke garments, was delighted, commenting, "Is it even possible for a first suit to fit this perfectly?" I was also thrilled with the result -- a flawless fit without any sense of stiffness or formality. The suit blended so naturally into his wardrobe that he could wear it to work the very next day.

Since delivery, I have had the pleasure of meeting Mr. W several times to check in on the suit, and he reports that it feels incredibly comfortable and relaxed. Initially, he thought the trousers might be too roomy, but after wearing them, he realized they were just right.

After experiencing such a soft, lightweight bespoke suit, he mentioned he finds it hard to return to his more structured ready-to-wear suits. While I feel a little guilty about that, I'm truly honored that he is so pleased. I sincerely hope he will continue to enjoy it for many years to come.
